Kia Kima Scout Reservation

Troop 824 will have summer camp at Camp Kia Kima Scout Reservation in Hardy, Arkansas, June 28 - July 3, 2009.

Kia Kima Scout Reservation is located near Hardy, Arkansas, approximately 225 miles from St Louis. Once in Hardy, Arkansas (directions).

Troop 824 will be in Camp Cherokee. This camp was established in 1965 as an outpost camp. While it is no longer an outpost camp, troops will retrieve their meals from the centralized commissary and patrols prepare their food. Meal information is provided in advance so units may bring additional recipes and condiments to supplement their meals.

The camp fee to attend summer camp at Camp Cherokee, Chickasaw Council, will be $220.00 per Scout. The Troop will also charge an additional fee of $20.00 per Scout for miscellaneous items. There will be additional 'Special Program Fee' costs (see Registration Guide). The cost for an adult will be $110.00. Troop 824 anticipates the cost of the event including miscellaneous items to be $240.00 per Scout. Please remember the 'Special Program Fee' will need to be added to this total.

We will start collecting $50 per month for 4 months and $40, plus 'Special Program Fee' costs the last month. Collection will start in January 2010. Checks need to make out to Troop 824. Tom Hofmeister will be the contact person for all checks. If the long term camping fund (LTCF) is going to be used, please let Mr. Hofmeister or Mr. Hutson, Troop Treasurer, know.

Transportation will be the responsibility of each individual.

Check in on Sunday June 27th and check out will occur on Saturday July 3rd.
